100 Centuries of Figuration 2D
This is part of the Memories Project. The upper portion of Pietro da Cortona's fresco, "Allegory of Divine Providence and Barberini Power," situated on the ceiling of the grand salon in Palazzo Barberini, Rome, underwent a digital fusion with an etching by Louis Tessier titled "Fleurs d'Oranger." This process resulted in a vibrant amalgamation of figurative and abstract elements. A barbed wire fence is prominently displayed in the foreground, creating a visual division within the scene. Beyond the barbed wire, the background is composed of an abstract, multicolored image that resembles a waterfall, blending hues such as gold, light blue, green, red, and light purple. Scattered throughout the image are small leaves and orange blossoms, with several visible on the barbed wire itself and additional leaves and flowers set against the abstract backdrop. The artwork combines both vibrant colors and a sense of tension, juxtaposing symbols of restriction with a display of vitality and resilience through the depiction of the blooming flowers and the overall dynamic composition..
